Who is Jesus & Why is He so Important to the World (and to You)
There is one true God. This is the God that created all good things and all the people on the Earth, including you.
We live in a fallen world and we are all fallen people. There is a penalty for each person’s sin and it is death.
God loves the people He created. Over 2,000 years ago, God sent His one and only Son named Jesus to be born on Earth and to eventually die on the cross. Jesus died for us as a loving gift so that our penalty for sin can be paid for.
Jesus did this so we can find freedom in our lives while we are alive on Earth. He also did this so when we die, we can have everlasting life and go to Heaven to be reunited with the loving and true God.
If you are ready to accept this free gift of salvation that God has given you, then pray this prayer aloud:
Prayer to Receive Jesus Christ
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and giving me everlasting life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen!
Congratulations, if you prayed this prayer! You have begun a beautiful and new journey as a new person.
Finding a Good Church
Find a good Bible-based Christian church so you can learn more about Jesus and so you can find a supporting and loving community.
A good church will show the following characteristics:
- Their main focus is Jesus.
- They acknowledge that Jesus is the one and only Son of God.
- They acknowledge that although Jesus is also God, He came to Earth to be born as a person. He later died on the cross for people’s sins. Then He returned to life three days later.
- They acknowledge that a person’s salvation can only be obtained through Jesus – and nothing else, and no one else. Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins; this is a loving gift from God. (You cannot buy your salvation, you cannot earn your salvation, and you cannot find salvation through anyone else; except Jesus.)
- They love people the same way that Jesus loved people in the Bible.
God bless you, and remember that God loves you!
